Well Maria passed most of here screening before having to enter Kindergarten. The only part she didn't pass was the hearing test.

The motor skill and mind skills she past with a 45%. The minimum is 30% so she did well. The medical screening she did great on the sight...20/20. She is 65% for her height and 55% for her weight.

Today we went in to have her hearing checked by the pediatrician. The Dr. said that she failed there test to. She checked Maria's ears and doesn't see much fluid in Maria's hears to be hindering her hearing. So we are going back in 4 weeks to have her checked again to see what fluid she does have has either emptied or deminished. If no change then we will have to go to an ENT (Ears, Nose, & Throat) specialist. The only other thing the pediatrician could think was that her adnoids might be blocking her fluid flow. We will wait and see.

She had to be updated on her immunization and we were trying to prepare her last night that she would need them before going to school. When we got to the screening center she said "I'm really worried about getting shots." She had thought she was getting right there & then. When I was making the appointment I didn't think we would get in today, but we did. So when she got them today I was just telling her that if she felt like crying to just go ahead. When the time came and she got the shots to me it looked like she could cry. I told her that it was alright go ahead and cry. She says, "Ouch, that hurts." Maria didn't cry at all. For a treat for doing so well she got to choose where to eat..."The Olive Garden!" [Smile]

Next September Maria will be a Kindergartener.... [Cry Smiley] [Smile]

Kindergarten already(next yr)Wow! I remember that day for Jason-he had 4 shots to get and all at once! Not good! Now he's good til his teens, where they're to get one.

How much did she weigh? Jason is still 34lbs! I don't know how he got so lucky from the rest of us.I would love to fatten him up! It's hard to find clothes for him. The size he could wear is a 4t but the lenght isn't there but when i go a size up it's to big around his waist. Not to many place have slims either.

The olive garden?? What does she like there??

I believe that Maria was 39 pounds and 42 inches tall.

She loves anything Italian. She liked my chili soup I had and the sausage I had.

She is definitely an Italian girl [Smile]

Oh! this posting takes me back to each of our kids kindergarten screening! [Cool] [Cry Smiley] Those years went too fast!

Bryant only weights 47 lbs and he is in 2nd grade. He is often teased about how little he is. To him it is a bad thing! Roxanne Henderson, also, right in front of him asked You much be in Kindergarten since you're such a little boy. Bryant just about cried! She thought by his size he would be in kindergarten. Because her kids are so tall! She was trying to take back what she said when she saw the reaction she got from Bryant. He told her NO! I AM IN SECOND GRADE! Then walked away! I didn't scold him either because I think us adults need to stop and think about how we say things to young kids. We hurt their feels with our words.

I tell him, often, he has a lot of smarts for and short guy. I, also, have to tell him that Uncle Ben was short until he was 14 and look now his is 6' 4" tall.

Keep us posted on Maria! Hope it isn't anything too serious.
