Well Sheryl and I made the decision this weekend that we ARE going to build the house that we have wanted to build for some time.
I started the ball rolling several weeks ago. Why you might ask after we have done so much to our current home. Well here are the factors.
Low Interest rates
Rate in which lots and houses are increasing is surpassing our raises each year. So now is the time to get the most house for our money.
Something we have wanted to for the past couple of years.
Rather put fix up money into a new house instead of fixing up our current home.
Realtor came to our house the other day and was pleasantly surprised by our house. He thinks we can list it for 15k more than he estimated before seeing it. He loved the color in our rooms and the detail of the oak throughout the house
Of course the website is where you are going to get the most detail on our house. I'll start posting information and pictures. Try not to get to annoyed with me. Like I told Sheryl yesterday. Don't think I'm weird if I call you some morning and say "Hey they started to dig the basement" heheh I figure I will be out there just about everyday with my camera taking pictures of the progress. I don't plan on bugging the builders... unless I drop of donuts some morning (Sheryl laughs when I say that) The builder is about to lock out a current buyer from his home because he calls and bugs everyone. Andy got a frantic phone call a couple of weeks ago. "They delivered the appliances but they didn't install them!!" Andy informed them that was because the installer was coming the next day. hehehehehe
If we get the lot that we want. (we called in a voice hold on it on Saturday) It will have a little hill in the back yard. We went sledding there with Stacy on Saturday And the house next door is a 400,000+ house!!! So our value will go up instantly too
I've never done anything like this before. It is fun and exciting and scary all at the same time.

You guys must know what you want by now because you have been looking at different model homes for some time. Not knowing if you would ever build or when, you started looking early which was wise. It means you have put some thought behind what you are looking for in a new home. And of course the model house you have chosen you have been in many times. Actually I think most of us, that live close, have also been in the model house.
I think the house is very nice. I really liked it myself.
Are you going to be able to have a fenced in back yard like you have now? Do they allow that in the development?

The answer to your question Mom is...Yes. I don't know how soon we will have that but we will play all that by ear when we get in. I do believe that it has to be a wood fence not a wired fencing. I'm not 100% sure on that because we were looking at several developments. We would prefer a wood fence anyways.

Andy faxed over out blue print specs today. So I've got a bunch of questions now
The drafter changed a few things and I know that they won't fly! He/she made my tub smaller, put in a broom closet instead of Sheryl's Pantry, added a few other things.
It is nice to see the print though...it is our house now

How exciding! Wish it was us doing the building, would be fun. But don't be afraid to check things out as the guys are building! So many times theres mistakes done and easier to change it before it's all done. I've seen it done when i was doing some cleaning for a construction company. GOOD LUCK.

Trust me Shannon my husband will be out there daily. The house hasn't even been started and he already is out there daily. Nothing will be missed not by him....that is a good thing.

I'm not sure about everyday.... but I'm sure it will be close. Our camera has taken about 7800 photos now.... Any bets on to what the total will be by the time I'm done
