Holy smokes… yesterday Sheryl and I spent ALL day making choices…..

We picked out lights, lights and more lights.

We picked out siding, shingles, and brick.

We picked out types of carpet, colors, linoleum, floor tile, wall tile, border tile, sinks, counters, and even towel bars......styles of everything.

It was a very long day... We started at 8:15am and drove with the kids out to the development. Then we took them daycare and then we started our day. Our first appointment was at 9am with lights. That was the fastest and the smoothest thing of the entire day.

Then we rushed off for our 10:30am appointment with the agent that we are buying our home from.... he was a couple of minutes late. He wife also came. They make a pretty good team. When we get together with them... we always end up talking about the wildest things and time gets away from us. Then at like 12:50pm we rushed to our 1:00pm appointment. We called them on the way and said we had just left our other appointment. We did, but we were also stopping at McDonald's to get some quick lunch. We ate that on the way over to the carpet place. Which we knew going in was setup for a 3 hour appointment.

Then we rushed at 4:30pm to get the kids... it was one of those long days that you were tired... because your mind didn't want to think about anything else the rest of the day [Smile]

Yes, it was a long day and almost more work then work itself. It was much more pleasant to be picking out things for our new house then having to try and work with an insurance company to get them to reconsider a claim.

We already think we will be changing a few of light fixtures and one that we don't need. So it probably was a good idea that we got a headstart on the whole process. Now we have the chance to think about what we chose and change it before we move in. The nice thing about the place we bought our fixture from we have 60 days after they install the fixtures to decide if it goes with the look we are going for. We were only $90 over our allowance.

I believe we are happy with most of our choices.
