Subject: Watering While Away...
Leaving your houseplants home alone this holiday season? Here are some easy ways to keep them watered while you're away:
- Put unglazed bricks in a large container and add a few inches of water, then put plants on top - they'll absorb water from the bricks.
- Line a bathtub with plastic and layer several sheets of newspaper over it, then wet the newspaper well and place plants on top.
- For plants too large to move, mulch with damp newspaper to slow moisture loss. [ February 21, 2003, 05:23 PM: Message fixed by: Vonnie ]

Huh . . . interesting. Wonder if that will work even when I'm not away. Then they won't die!
